CHECKETTS FRESH FISH LTD.
We have had a tremendous amount of interest in Checketts Fresh Fish. This new business opened in November 2007. At the time of writing, all the old buildings (circa 1830) at the rear of Ombersley Deli next door are being restored with new buildings springing up around them. Watch this space – Ombersley could well become a great “Foodie” Centre. The Fresh Fish Business is owned by the Checketts family and run along the same lines as our long established butchers business offering very best quality and service using only trusted suppliers.
You can park at Evertons Mews right outside the entrance to the new shops or access from the front via the Delicatessen (which is now under new management). Next to our Fish Shop will be Ombersley Wines, Newsagents, Deli and Convenience Store. So – if you haven’t been to Ombersley lately, it is well worth a visit.

Welcome to our new butcher David Parker and new trainee Rhiannon Bowkett. David has had many years’ butchery management and customer service experience - rest assured, he will look after you.
Rhiannon, although young, has already gained good customer service experience in the food trade. She has had Chef training and gained Food Hygiene and First Aid certificates.
LATER NEWS
We have just recently passed an Inspection by EFSIS, (European Food Safety Inspection Service) the most rigorous in the meat trade as required to retain membership of the Guild of Q Butchers. We are pleased to announce that we have achieved all A Grades for Meat Quality, Food Safety, Hygiene, Displays and Customer service.
This inspection is extremely thorough and takes at least 3 hours in which time interviewing staff, checking of all records and examining the whole of the premises is done.
In addition we gained 8 Gold Awards at BPEX West Midlands Awards held at Malvern on 30th January 2008.
